What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?

Central Ohio artist Mitchell Cordle has been immersed in drawing and painting since childhood. He later refined his craft at Hocking College, where he began shaping the distinctive visual language that defines his work today. Often disillusioned by the state of modern society and the bleakness he observes in everyday life, Mitchell turns to art as a means of constructing imaginative worlds that offer escape, wonder, and emotional depth.
His practice embraces a wide range of mixed media, including soft pastels, color tints, acrylics, oils, ink, crayons, gold leaf, glitter, tape, and other unconventional materials. Through this experimental approach, he creates striking, eccentric characters that are both whimsical and compelling, inviting viewers into a universe where creativity overrides constraint.
End Rhyme
“This piece is one of my personal favorites. I’m especially pleased with how it developed. It belongs to my Urban Poetry series and depicts a poet raised in the ghetto who aspires to become a fox. The work is titled End Rhyme.”
Straight out of the Urban Poetry series, about a poet raised in the ghetto who wants to be a fox titled End Rhyme (mix media).
